What is Super Duplex?

Duplex stainless steel grades have a ferritic-austenitic microstructure, with a phase balance of approximately 50% ferrite and 50% austenite. They combine many of the advantageous properties of ferritic and austenitic stainless steels. The duplex microstructure contributes to the high mechanical strength and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

Other characteristics of duplex steel grades include good abrasion and erosion resistance, good fatigue resistance, high-energy absorption and low thermal expansion.

Typical applications for super duplex steels are desalination plants, seawater systems, flue-gas cleaning, umbilical’s, storage tanks, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.

APIS MC supplies Fully threaded studbolts, Hexagon Nuts, Socket Capscrews, 12pt Bolts / Screws, Plain washers, Hexagon Headed Bolts, Hexagon Headed Setscrews, Socket Grubscrews / Setscrews, Flange Head Bolts to name but a few.
